Viability plan for a center in the CERCA network
Description
- To design a restructuring plan for the Center that guarantees the continuity of the Center’s research activities while stopping the Institute’s deficit and restoring its financial situation.
- To generate the necessary documentation and offer the necessary support to its managers to achieve approval of the Plan by the Foundation’s Board of Trustees.
Results
- An analysis of the Center’s situation from the scientific, economic, legal, and political perspectives.
- A Restructuring Plan for the research center.
- A set of documentation to accompany the Plan’s approval process at the political and technical level.
Institutional design and development
Description
- The Universitat PolitĆØcnica de Catalunya Technology and Innovation Center Foundation (CIT_UPC) is a non-profit entity with its own legal personality, created with the aim of putting university research capacity at the service of Businesses.

Operational planning and strategic accompaniment
Description
- Barcelona Digital Centre Tecnològic (bDigital) is an advanced technology center specialized in the application of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in the fields of Health, Security, Mobility and Energy, and Food and Environment.
Objectives
- Continued consultancy to the bDigital Foundation on corporate strategy.
Results
- Development of the Operational Plan that details the actions to execute the Foundation’s Strategic Planning. The project consisted of the design, execution, and monitoring of the Foundation’s operational plan to specify its strategic planning in actions, measures, indicators, and a timeline.
- Support for the promotion of the bDigital Foundation and the search for funding.
Strategic planning and assistant management
Description
- The purpose of the assignment is to provide consultancy services in the strategic, economic, and management area of the Institute, in an economic environment that mandates a process of reorganization and restructuring of the Institute’s activity areas.
Objectives
- Evaluation of the scientific, economic, and management viability of the Institute’s activities.
- Support to the Foundation’s Directorate in carrying out a restructuring plan for IREC that guarantees the viability of the priority research activities.
- Support to the Foundation’s Directorate in the strategic reorientation of the Institute.
Results
- Reduction of negative results forecasts to zero.
- Design of the bases for budgetary management.
- Viability plan approved by the board of trustees.
Service for information, vigilance, and communication of funding opportunities
Objectives
- To keep the OTRI-OSR and the IDIBELL scientific community permanently informed of the most important updates regarding research funding programs.
- To improve the quality of communication on funding opportunities to the scientific community, improving their level of information and planning capacity.
- To allow the OTRI-OSR and the IDIBELL scientific and management community to react as quickly as possible to new funding opportunities.

Program for the Integration of Centers of the CERCA Network
Description
- SUMA is the first initiative for the Research Centers of Catalonia (CERCA) to achieve integrated structures with greater critical mass and scientific competitiveness.
Objectives
- The SUMA Program incentivizes projects for implementation in research centers with the following actions:
– New integrations and mergers between CERCA research centers.
– Renewal of previously funded SUMA projects between CERCA research centers and/or other structures.
Results
- The SUMA program is organized into two phases:
– Phase 1: Involves submitting an application accompanied by a preliminary project with the corresponding technical report.
– Phase 2: The preliminary projects of interest to the Government that have been selected or renewed will be promoted where appropriate.
